Myofuncitonal Therapy involves commitment. Like anytime muscles are involved each person is different in how they experience changes in function so while the exercises that are given to clients are not usually difficult a time commitment of at least 2 times a day for 5-10minutes is needed to see change and get to goals. 

If you have been told or think you may have any of the following, you or your family member should seek help: 

 

  • mouth breathing
  • nasal congestion due to poor oral habits
  • sleep-disordered breathing
  • snoring and obstructive sleep apnea 
  • tongue thrust
  • thumb sucking or prolonged pacifier use
  • open-mouth posture
  • low or improper tongue resting posture, and weak lip seal.
  • poor sleep quality, daytime sleepiness, difficulty staying asleep 
  • ADHD-like symptoms in children related to disrupted sleep 
  • prevent orthodontic relapse
  • address narrow palates or dental crowding
  • open bites or other malocclusions
  • teeth grinding or clenching 
  • relapse after tongue or lip tie release 
  • guide proper jaw and facial development in children
  • reduce facial muscle tension or imbalance
